                                                    Virtual Safe Haven Trial

Virtual Safe Haven ‘come and try it out’ session – Monday 18th May between 5.00 pm and 6.00 pm

To mark Mental Health Awareness Week 2020, the Safe Haven teams across Surrey are offering 'come and try it' sessions for their new virtual Safe Haven services.

Between 5.00 pm and 6.00 pm each day this week (Monday to Friday) you can click on one of the below links to visit the virtual Safe Haven to see how it works.  This means that you will be familiar with it if you need to access the service in future when experiencing mental health or emotional wellbeing crisis.

The links and the schedule for the open days are below:

What happens when I click the link?

You will be taken to a ‘landing page’ for the Epsom Safe Haven where you will be able to test that your camera and microphone are working, after that you click ‘enter the waiting room’.  When you enter the waiting room you will be met by one of the team – you will not be able to see others in the waiting room and they can’t see you.  Your conversation will be private.  The member of the team will give you a warm welcome and they will then ‘show you around’ and explain how the service works and answer any questions that you have.

The virtual Safe Haven is usually open from 6.00 pm to 11.00 pm, 7 days of the week for those experiencing a crisis.  Use the above links to access your nearest Safe Haven during the normal opening times.  The service uses the NHS digital platform called ‘attend anywhere’, you can find out more about attend anywhere if you would like to here

Who will the virtual Safe Haven be particularly helpful for?

  • Adults who are experiencing mental health or emotional wellbeing crisis but are unable to visit their local safe haven in person

  • Carers who may be unable to leave their cared for person alone to visit a local safe haven
