Surrey Coalition of Disabled People want to find out what people want from mental health hospitals.

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust are replacing the old Abraham Cowley Unit in Chertsey with a new inpatient facility, and will later build a new hospital in the East of the county. They have already completed Farnham Road Hospital in Guildford in 2015.

They’ve been consulting people who use services and their carers about their plans, but we want to make sure as many people as possible have the chance to make their voices heard.

We’ve created a survey asking what matters to you, and how you think the Trust could make the environment feel safe, welcoming, calming and therapeutic.

If you’ve been to a mental health hospital before, either as a user of services or visitor, you can also tell us what you think worked well and what could be improved.

If you use SABP services or care for someone who does, we’d really like to know your views. There are 15 questions for people who have been to a mental health hospital before, and 9 questions for people who have not. You can skip any questions that make you feel uncomfortable.
